Loka IS the marker that makes a difference

Nearly every marker on the market is made of 100% single-use plastic. A vast majority of them end up in the garbage, or are littered directly into our environment.

The LOKA earth marker is made almost entirely from biodegradable materials based on government certifications, making it the most sustainable marker ever made. Industrially compostable materials make up 88% of the marker body. The packaging is entirely made of recycled cardboard, and the water-based ink is washable and non-toxic. Replacing 500 sets of single-use plastic markers with LOKA keeps 100lbs of single-plastic out of the environment. LOKA does less damage to the planet in 100 years than a traditional marker does before it even leaves the factory.

My Role

I worked with engineering and manufacturing to specify the product and packaging dimensions, materials, colors and finishes. Once product formats were established, I designed the packaging suite artwork and expanded the brand styles and expression. In preparation for launch, I developed marker color personas and creative marketing campaign concepts, designed the website, and created product visuals using 3D CAD models in Keyshot.
